Commodore's Update - July 14

Published 19:38 on 14 Jul 2020

Hello all,

As some of you are still in self isolation,I will keep the weekly updates coming for the time being to keep you informed of the situation at MYC.

Mike Hawkins has indicated that the bar may well open in early August. He has done a lot of research on how other bars and clubs have reopened and would have found the good points and the pit falls and the best way to get around the pit falls. Hopefully we will know a bit more next week.

New membership interviews had been on hold from the beginning of the lockdown but Libby Griggs has started to conduct the new membership interviews via Zoom, so we hope to catch up with the list of applications that have been on hold since March.

Please be aware that our insurance restrictions do not allow us to have bonfires on the foreshore.

The new mooring barge is coming along very well but if anyone can lend a hand to do some welding,it would be very much appreciated, just contact any of the barge team. Whilst talking about the barge, please give a little thought to a name for the mooring barge which we can use when the barge gets launched, more details will appear in Pennant in the near future.

Keep safe

Regards Simon

Commodore
