Commodore's Update - July 21

Published 10:35 on 21 Jul 2020

Hello all

Mike Hawkins is looking towards reopening the bar on the Friday 31st of July at 8pm. He is then planning to open for 5 shifts a week, these being Tuesday lunch time, Wed evening, Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday lunch times. The format for seating, ordering drinks, method of payment and cleaning will be circulated next week. Please try to patient with bar helpers as this will all be new to them.

It would seem that we have been having unwelcome visitors on our pontoons in the form of youths who swim out to the pontoons from the slip way and beach. If these youths get argumentative when asked to leave, please do not get aggressive towards them, we don't want things to get out of hand. If the youths get aggressive, this is classed as"Agrovated Trespassing". We are currently being in contact with the police to get advice on the best and correct way to deal with this issue. The code for the gates has once again been changed as the youths watch members put in the code then use it for themselves. You can find the new code on MYC Extra.

Wednesday evening racing is going well with 8 boats competing last Wednesday.

And finally,we have sold our Drascombe Lugger as it did not seem to be being used and was userequiring time and money put into it for very little use.

Keep safe

Regards Simon
