Message from the Commodore 25/03/2021

Published 09:48 on 26 Mar 2021

Hello All,

The general committee met last Monday with a view to hopefully getting the club up and running again, if of-course the government deem it safe for us to start coming out of the lockdown.

Our plan at the moment is to wait for the P Ms update, which I believe is this weekend, and then I will send out another message letting you know if the boat park will be able to open on Monday 29th March 2021.

Please be patient and wait for the update from the GC to let you know if we can go back to work on/visit our boats. Hopefully this will be positive news, but please adhere to the guidance that will be on the club website under the Covid 19 tab at all times.

Good news!!

Hazel Thompson has taken up the role of the Hon Secretary, she was co-opted into the position last night, big thank you to Hazel for this move. But now of course we are short of a Rear Commodore House!!

Mike Underwood informed us last night that the engines and the crane on the Mooring barge have all been run and working well and all is looking good for a launch and sea trials tomorrow (Weather permitting!!) I am sure that all will be fine, and will enable them to start servicing the moorings straight away. This is a fantastic achievement that really does show the Ethos of the club.

Well done to those few members that have spent hundreds of hours in all weather conditions, they really do need to feel very proud of what they have produced. This will be an immense benefit to our club and members., so a massive Thank you.

Keep safe.

Mike Lewry
