Commodore's Update - May 26

Published 13:26 on 26 May 2020

Hi all,

Well, launching of boats is underway and according to the boat park committee, its all going well.

Please be mindful of the social distancing rules of keeping at least 2 metres apart. This virus is totally invisible and none of us know what our friends at the club have been in contact with before visiting MYC. Because the average age of our membership is relatively high, we potentially have quite a few vulnerable members. Social distancing is our best friend at the moment.

Now a plea from the Boat Park team -

It would be very useful to the boat park committee for their forward planning of launching boats if members could let them know of which of the following options is their preferred intention.

1. Intention to launch.

2. Intention to launch when the government relaxes it's policy of overnight stays on boats.

3. No intention of launching this year. This is the most useful information for boat park to know at present - If you have made a decision to not launch please let boat park know so they can plan boat movements in the yard accordingly.

Please email your intentions as soon as possible to Steve at the boatparkadmin club email address.

Boat park would also like to remind members that there will be no Summer storage charge provided you have paid for an MYC mooring or have proof of paying for an alternative mooring.

Keep safe

Regards, Simon
