Commodore's Update 23rd February 2021

Hello all

As we approach our AGM this coming Sunday, history will be made at MYC as the first ever virtual AGM to be held at the club. Please try to be patient with the committee as although we have had several trial runs at holding AGM meetings, things may at times go rather quiet, don't worry, it's probably my fault.

Sadly, my time as Commodore comes to an end this Sunday. It has been a tricky period at times, especially this last year. The general committee may not have got everything right but your safety at MYC has always been our highest priority during this Civic 19 period.

A commodore can steer a ship, but can not go anywhere without a crew. My crew have been the general committee and each and everyone of them have really worked hard to keep our ship on course, and for that, I would really like to thank them all for the fantastic dedication they have shown me and the membership, all for the good of Marchwood Yacht Club.

Reading into the Prime ministers announcement on Monday, it looks like we may be able to reopen the club on or around the 29th of March. I am sure the incoming committee will keep you updated.

Security, as always, is ongoing and a big thanks goes out to you guys.

Finally, as I come to my last update, which I hope have been useful to you all, I would like to wish my successor all the very best in the role of Commodore of Marchwood Yacht Club, a prestige position to hold.
