Commodore's Update - May 19

Published 10:52 on 20 May 2020

Hi all

Well, we finally reopened the club last Wednesday and members have been tending to their boats.

The general committee were quite concerned that the boat park could become overrun with members trying to work on their boats but I am pleased to say that this has not been an issue thus far.

Launching will commence this Saturday the 23rd. The boat park have issued safety procedures for the launching of boats, please take time to read this as it is for your safety and the safety of the rig drivers and their assistants.

This is also available on the website (Covid-19 menu) and will be updated there as required.

The cleaners have been reinstated, but they will only be cleaning the toilets at this time. The club house will be cleaned at a later date when we start to use it again, so there is no reason for anyone to enter the club house other than go to the 1st aid kit.

Please ensure you remove your ladders from your boats after use and lock it up and remember to unplug extension leads. This has already started to lapse.

Please try not to be complacent with regards to self distancing in the club and this includes trying to take a sneaky peak, looking at the progress of the mooring barge as you may compromise the self distancing rules.

It's good to get back to some kind of normality and I hope things continue to improve.

Keep safe

Regards, Simon

Commodore
